Woman, dog injured in crash near Del. firehouse

NEWPORT, Del. (WPVI) -- A woman and her dog were hurt in a crash in Newport, Delaware Tuesday afternoon.

It happened along the unit block of West Justis Street in front of the Minquas Fire Company.

Authorities say it involved an SUV and a work van. The collision forced the SUV onto its roof.

Firefighters were right there to render aid.

The driver was taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment and her dog was taken to the vet, also to be examined.
