Man punched by Wildwood cop charged (VIDEO)

WILDWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) -- There are new details in the investigation of a Wildwood Police officer recorded punching a man in the face.

The department says officer Patrolman Lucas Bottoms used force after the suspect, Kevin Piccolo, refused to follow his commands.

The investigation is now being handled by the Cape May County Prosecutor's office.

Piccolo is now charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

He will be in court July 7.

Investigators added that if it is found that Officer Bottoms' actions were excessive, he will be held accountable.
