Multi-vehicle crash jams southbound Roosevelt Boulevard in Rhawnhurst

RHAWNHURST (WPVI) -- A crash involving several vehicles is slowing traffic on the Roosevelt Boulevard in the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia.

It happened before 1 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes at Solly Avenue.

Video from Chopper 6 HD showed a silver SUV and a white sedan, both with heavy front end damage, blocking two lanes each of both the outer and inner travel lanes of the boulevard.

A third vehicle, a white minivan, was stopped near the silver SUV. It also appeared to have sustained damage.

Multiple police and firefighting units were on the scene.

There was no immediate word what led to the crash or the number or extent of injuries.

Only one lane of southbound traffic was getting by the scene as police investigated.
