New backpacks and school supplies donated

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Hundreds of kids received some new tools for earning Tuesday.

They got new backpacks and school supplies at the Eastwick recreation center.

The giveaway was organized by councilman Kenyatta Johnson and the Ralph Brooks community basketball league.

The event was capped off with a sweet treat, water ice and pretzels.
