UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Delaware County animal rescue needs the public's help in finding out who abused two injured and badly emaciated dogs in an Upper Darby park Monday morning.

Justice Humane Society found the two dogs in Penn Pines Park.

One dog was barely alive, the other was trying to protect her.

Russell Harper said, "You could tell they had been starved for a long period of time prior to this. They had been fought many times because of the level of the healing of wounds we see."

Corinne Thomas said, "We did blood work, and she was very anemic. We did a blood transfusion."

They're getting good care now, but are in critical condition, and it could be a week before they're out of the woods.

There's a $500 reward for information.

If you can help, contact Justice Humane Society's Facebook page.
