Police say 4 people were shot during a violent shooting spree early Tuesday morning in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say 4 people were injured in two separate shooting incidents that happened within an hour of each other in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The first happened just after midnight Tuesday.

Gunfire erupted at the entrance of the School House Apartments on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Arctic Avenue.

Three people were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are looking for a burgundy-colored vehicle that fled the scene.

Police have not said what led to the shootings.

The second incident happened at 12:45 a.m. on the 800 block of North Maryland Avenue.

Officers arrived to find a man shot several times.

He was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Witnesses told police they saw a suspect flee on a bicycle.

An investigation is underway.
