Allentown family mourns boy killed in Florida

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Lehigh Valley family is mourning the loss of a 7-year-old boy who was gunned down in the Miami area on Sunday.

Amiere Castro lived in Allentown, but recently moved to Florida.

The Miami-Dade Police Department says Castro was shot in the head and killed at a relative's home on Sunday.

Castro's grandfather Lee Gibson says he was an adventurous boy and had the determination to succeed at anything.

"That's a shame, that's what the guy took away. He never got the chance to see the good side, what his life was going to be, they robbed him, they robbed my daughter of that," Gibson said.

This is the second time tragedy has struck this family.

Castro's cousin, Marcus Eggleston, was shot and killed four years ago in Allentown.

Police in Florida are now looking for Dravein Duke in connection with Castro's murder.

They are also looking for four accomplices.
