Armed suspect robs Torresdale convenience store

Philadelphia police are looking for the armed suspect who robbed a Torresdale convenience store Monday morning.

TORRESDALE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are looking for an armed suspect who robbed a convenience store in the city's Torresdale section early Monday morning.

It happened at 4 a.m. inside the 7-Eleven located on the 9000 block of Frankford Avenue.

Police say an unknown suspect wearing a blue shirt, black pants and black shoes pulled up up the store in a red vehicle, purchased some items inside and left.

The suspect can then be seen returning to the store 30 minutes later wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

He points a handgun at the clerk behind the counter and demands money.

The robber fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.

He was last seen heading east on Tolbut Street.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 5'7" tall and 250lbs. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, with the lower half of his face covered, black pants, black shoes and armed with a handgun.
