SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A swarm of more than 1,000 bees terrorized a South Philadelphia neighborhood.

Neighbors were not too happy with their unwelcome visitors in the 2200 block of Mifflin Street.

The swarm blanketed the doorway areas of two homes.

On Friday night, neighbors tell Action News a beekeeper finally came to the rescue and retrieved the nearly 1,300 bees.

The beekeeper said that there must be a colony nearby.
