Car crash, fire damages football field at Northeast High School

RHAWNHURST (WPVI) -- A car crash and fire damaged part of the football field at Northeast High School in Philadelphia's Rhawnhurst section.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Cottman Avenue.

Police say someone drove a car onto the track around the athletic field and set it on fire.

Crews arrived to find the car fully engulfed in flames, which were quickly extinguished.

No one was injured.

Philadelphia police and firefighters are investigating.
