The Coast Guard was called into action Saturday to rescue a ship that ran aground in the Delaware River.

MORRISVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Coast Guard was called into action Saturday to rescue a ship that ran aground in the Delaware River.

The 622-foot Marshall Islands-flagged motor vessel, Odigitria, got stuck around 4:30 a.m. as it was transiting to Grows Terminal in Morrisiville, Pennsylvania.

The ship was transporting scrap metal, officials said.

Crews were able to free it around 1 p.m., officials said, after nearly nine hours.

No injures or pollution were reported.
