VIDEO: Crash knocks out power in Mayfair
A 1-vehicle crash knocked out power to hundreds of customers in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia.

MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police say one driver's car accident was responsible for knocking out power to a thousand PECO customers.

The vehicle slammed into a utility pole at Roland Avenue and Sheffield Street in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia around 5:00 a.m.

The crash knocked down wires and cut electricity to the surrounding neighborhoods.

Power was restored to most customers within about 90 minutes.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
