CHELTENHAM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- A grieving father is hoping after five years, a reward will help find the person who struck and killed his teen daughter in a hit-and-run.

"I felt like I was that blessed person that got this wonderful child," said Dereck Workman.

Workman misses his daughter Tanicha every day.

"I can never forget," he said.

On Wednesday April 7, 2010, the 17-year-old was out buying her little brother a video game in Cheltenham Township.

At about 10:00 p.m., Tanicha was attempting to cross Cheltenham Avenue near 5th Street.

That's when police say she was hit and killed by a van that fled the scene.

"It was just so devastating that - I don't know, the days just - seem like time just gone," said Workman.

The vehicle is described as a silver or gravy Chevy or GMC work van with no windows.

The driver was said to be a middle aged white or Hispanic male.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $4,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible - $2,500 of that was donated by AAA Mid-Atlantic.

All you have to do is call 215-546-TIPS (8477). All calls will remain anonymous.
