Driver killed after crashing into tree on Roosevelt Boulevard

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was killed after crashing his car into a tree along Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the inner northbound lanes near Conwell Avenue.

The driver of a 2000 Nissan Maxima lost control of his car and went over into the outer lanes before striking a tree.

The driver suffered head, and chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

So far, his identity has not been released.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Philadelphia Police AID is investigating.
