SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Officials say an elderly man died in a house fire in South Philadelphia late Thursday night.
The blaze broke out just past 11:00 p.m. on the 2500 block of South Warnock Street.
Firefighters arrived to thick smoke and flames pouring from the first floor.
They found the victim in a bedroom on the second floor.
It took crews about a half hour to get the fire under control.
Firefighters did not find any working smoke alarms in the home.
There is no word on a cause, but investigators are calling it possibly a suspicious fire.
