The family of an 8-year-old Texas boy says bullying caused him to lose feeling in his legs.

Andrew Cumberbatch's doctors say he suffered paralysis and loss of his peripheral vision from his emotional stress.

It's called conversion disorder.

His mother says she didn't know he was internalizing his stress.

She says the 8-year-old isn't mature enough yet to be able to express himself emotionally.

"One time someone pushed me down the other time someone ripped up my work," said Andrew.

Dr. Kristy Bybee, a pediatrician says, "When the child starts talking about what is going on they get better."

Therapists at McLane Children's Hospital in Temple say they are helping Andrew regain movement by teaching him how to talk about his feelings.
