Fighting hunger in the Garden State

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) -- September is National Hunger Action Month and a grocery chain known throughout the Delaware Valley is pitching in to make a difference.

Shoprite kicked off its "Help Bag Hunger" event Wednesday.

At the Cherry Hill store local firefighters and politicians helped bag groceries for customers.

The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about hunger. Shoprite works year round to raise money for local food banks.
