LITTLE EGG HARBOR TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Firefighters ventilated the first floor of Pinelands Regional High School after fire broke out in a classroom.

Chopper 6 HD was over Pinelands Regional High School on Nugentown Road in Little Egg Harbor Township.

The fire was reported around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday and quickly went to 2 alarms.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one classroom.

The situation was placed under control within 20 minutes, and no one was injured.

When students arrived this morning they were directed to the football stadium, where they remained until the all-clear was given and they were allowed inside the school.

At about 10:30 a.m. a secondary false alarm caused the school to be evacuated, and students were again directed to the stadium.

Everyone was allowed back inside the building by 11:00 a.m., but a short time later students were dismissed for the day while efforts to clean up smoke and water from the school continue.

The school district expects the high school to resume its regular schedule on Thursday.

The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause.
