Firefighters battle church fire in Tacony

TACONY (WPVI) -- Fire crews battled a church blaze in the Tacony section of Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The fire broke out just before 2:00 a.m. at the Holy Innocents Saint Paul's Episcopal Church located on the 7000 block of Torresdale Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke showing at the church.

Officials say the fire appeared to be electrical and crews focused on a cross on the side of the building.

The fire was placed under control in about an hour.

There were no reports of any injuries.
