Firefighters battled a power plant fire in the Lehigh Valley.

LOWER MOUNT BETHEL TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Firefighters battled a power plant fire in the Lehigh Valley.

The fire started around 7:45 p.m. Sunday at Talen Energy Power Plant in Lower Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County.

The plant is located on the 6000 block of Depues Ferry Road.

Officials say a transformer malfunction led to the fire.

The fire has been brought under control. Crews remain on the scene.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for PPL Energy, which owns Talen, says customers are not being affected.
