OVERBROOK PARK (WPVI) -- Flames rekindled late Tuesday at a golf course building that caught fire on Monday night in Philadelphia's Overbrook Park section.
Fire officials say some embers re-lit after 11 p.m. and crews were able to get the fire under control.
The fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. Monday on the 7500 block of Cardington Road.
Firefighters located the blaze in the mansion house on the Karakung Golf Course.
The building contains a pro shop, restaurant, and several offices.
Crews had to overcome water supply issues and icing conditions while getting the blaze under control.
The combination of fierce winds and the design of the aging structure allowed the flames to race into the walls of the building and then up to the second floor and roof.
At that point firefighters who had been trying to stop the flames from inside the building were removed for their own safety.
There were no reported injuries.
Officials say the house had been scheduled for renovations, but could not be saved.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious.
Fire investigators are working to determine the cause.
