Gas leak sealed, evacuation order lifted in Winslow Twp.

WINSLOW TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Officials say a gas leak in Camden County has been sealed after prompting evacuations Monday morning.

The emergency call came in around 11:30 a.m. on Maureen Court in the Manor Hall development, just off Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township.

Chopper 6 was over the scene shortly after the incident was reported, where construction equipment could be seen in the area.

Nearby residents were ordered to evacuate as a precaution, and were offered to relocate to the nearby Winslow Township Elementary School #3 as a shelter, if needed, during to the gas leak response.

The evacuation order has since been lifted and repairs are underway.

There is no word what may have caused the gas leak.
