Authorities say an 11-year-old girl was wounded in what appears to be an accidental shooting in Wissinoming.

WISSINOMING (WPVI) -- Authorities say an 11-year-old girl was wounded in what appears to be an accidental shooting in Philadelphia's Wissinoming section.

It happened around 4:30 Saturday afternoon in the 6000 block of Charles Street.

Police believe someone in the house was playing with the gun when it went off, striking the girl.

She suffered a graze wound to the forehead and was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital.

Police say the victim is in satisfactory condition. She was described as conscious and alert during transport.

The child's parents are being questioned by police.

The incident is under investigation.
