VIDEO: Police investigate allege assault of H.S. football player
Police are investigating the allege assault of a high school football player in Philadelphia Thursday.

Authorities say a high school football player was jumped after practice at a playground in Spring Garden.

It happened around 4:15 Thursday afternoon near 18th and Mount Vernon streets.

Officials say the teen is a member of Ben Franklin High School's football team.

Few details have been released but police say the victim was jumped by a large group.

He was taken to Hahnemann Hospital for minor injuries and released.

Detectives took a juvenile female in for questioning but it's not clear if she will face any charges.

No word what sparked the attack.
