Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who they say broke into an apartment and stole a fully loaded gun in the city's Roxborough section.

ROXBOROUGH (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a burglar who they say broke into an apartment and stole a fully loaded gun in the city's Roxborough section.

The incident happened at the Woodmere apartments on the 8200 block of Henry Avenue around 2:30 p.m. on March 23.

Surveillance video shows a silver or champagne colored Mitsubishi Galant sedan with tinted windows pulling into the apartment complex parking lot and dropping off a heavyset black male carrying a dark colored shoulder bag.

The driver stays with the vehicle and acts as a lookout while police say the suspect walked up to one apartment and forced open the front door with a crowbar.

Once inside, the thief stole a fully loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with the serial number NUY406 and model 17C.

The vehicle then fled south on Henry Avenue after security arrived to check on the complex.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 30 to 40-years-old and possibly bald with a dark complexion and stocky build. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and carrying a black shoulder bag.
