LOWER MAKEFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police in Lower Makefield, Bucks County now have a new tool they say will protect officers and the public they serve.

Department brass showed off the body cameras Monday, which all Lower Makefield officers will now wear while on patrol.

The cameras give the department the ability to record and store all audio and video encounters with the public on a secure cloud based system.

Chief Kenneth Coluzzi told Action News that the times now demand this technology.

"I know that 99.9% of what deployees do are great every day. And what these cameras when accusations are made are going to prove that," he said.

Lower Makefield is now the only police department in Bucks County to have every one of its officers use these camera.

They're also hosting demos for other departments that are considering buying the devices.
