Man arrested for abusing 3-month-old in Lower Providence Township

LOWER PROVIDENCE TWP., Pa. -- A man was arrested for physically abusing a 3-month-old child in Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County.

Bruce Long is charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and related offenses.

Authorities say the infant was under Long's care at the time.

Long allegedly grabbed the infant's legs, twisted them and hit the child's head against the bottom of a bed.

The young victim was treated at Einstein Medical Center for skull, arm and leg fractures.

Long was taken into custody with bail set at $100,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 29th.
