A man is fighting for his life after he was critically wounded in a shooting in Philadelphia's Bustleton section.

BUSTLETON (WPVI) -- A man is fighting for his life after he was critically wounded in a shooting in Philadelphia's Bustleton section.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 8900 block of Alton Street.

Police say the 57-year-old victim was shot twice - once in the arm and once in the stomach.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

A 26-year old man, that police say lives on the same block was arrested.

Police say the younger man used an assault rifle and uncorked a barrage of gunfire, hitting two nearby houses.

No word on a possible motive.

Police continue to investigate.
