Man dies after falling from I-95 overpass in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the death of a man who fell from an overpass onto I-95 in South Philadelphia.

It happened at 9:34 a.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes near the Washington Avenue exit.

Philadelphia police tell Action News a man believed to be in his 40s fell from the overpass.

Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

There was no immediate word what caused the man to fall.

Southbound traffic was shut down briefly after the incident.

Several lanes were getting by the scene as police continued to investigate.
