Police are investigating a Saturday morning stabbing that left a man critically wounded in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia.

COBBS CREEK (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a Saturday morning stabbing that left a man wounded in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia.

The incident happened just before 6:30 a.m. on the 600 block of South 56th Street.

Officers arrived to find a 48-year-old man with stabbed wounds to the chest, back and arms.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

He was taken into surgery and listed in stable condition.

So far, there have been no arrests or word on what sparked the stabbing.
