Man injured in early morning home invasion in Overbrook

Philadelphia police are investigating an early morning home invasion in the city's Overbrook section.

OVERBROOK (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating an early morning home invasion which left a man injured in the city's Overbrook section.

It happened around 4 a.m. on the 2000 block of North 62nd Street.

Police say two male suspects broke into the home and confronted a 50-year-old man in a bedroom.

The pair demanded money, hit the man in the leg with a pipe and threatened him with a gun.

The victim handed over a bottle of Xanax pills.

The suspects also got away with a cell phone.

The victim is in the hospital in stable condition.

Police describe the first suspect as a black male, 6' tall, wearing a tan jacket, tan hat and armed with a pipe.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, wearing light-colored clothing and armed with a handgun.
