A man is hospitalized after being stabbed in his home by an intruder.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man was seriously injured during a home invasion robbery in West Philadelphia early Monday morning.

It was around 2:00 a.m. when officers responded to the 6000 block of Master Street.

When they arrived on location they discovered a 35-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his lower abdomen.

The victim told police that he was injured inside his residence on the 1300 block of North 60th Street. He said the suspect broke into his home and attacked him in the bedroom.

The suspects took the victim's cell phone before fleeing the scene.

The victim is in serious condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-30 years of age, 5'11", 150 pounds, tattoos on his face, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Police are continuing to investigate.
