READING, Pa. (WPVI) -- A man was killed and another person was injured in a shooting at a gas station in Reading, Pennsylvania.

The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Carl Walker.

It happened around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Getty Mart located at the intersection of West Greenwich Street and Schuylkill Avenue.

"My fiancé was a really good person," said Kecia French, victim's fiancé.

Police say Walker and a friend were in a truck in the parking lot at the time of the incident.

Surveillance video shows other people scrambling after several shots were fired.

Moments later the truck, with Walker badly wounded in the passenger seat, can be seen driving off.

Another camera captured two unidentified suspects running away.

French says the worst part is her fiancé went out in the middle of the night as a favor to her.

"This happened to him because he went out to look for my son, and he never came home," said French.

The unidentified driver took Walker directly to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second victim was taken to a local hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Now, family and friends are remembering a loving man with a generous heart.

"It's a shame what happened to him early this morning. I was really hurt to hear that," said Robert McLendon, friend. "Great guy. Always willing to give you a hand in everything."

As police continue collecting evidence, including bullets that pierced windows and nearby door frames, French is wondering why this happened to such a good man.

"He would give you the clothes off his back. That's the kind of person he was," said French. "He always put others first."

So far, there is no known motive for the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
