Man shot and killed inside Tioga-Nicetown bar

TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Police say a man was shot and killed inside a bar in the Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section early Saturday morning.

The shooting happened around 12:40 a.m. at the Mr. Chickens and Bernice's Lounge located at the intersection of Dennie and Clarissa Streets.

According to police, an armed man walked into the bar an opened fire on a 24-year-old male.

There were 40 customers inside the bar when the incident took place.

The victim was taken by police to Temple University Hospital.

He was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police say an argument may have sparked the shooting.

Detectives are searching security video in an effort to identify the shooter.

The victim's name has not been released.
