Man shot multiple times, killed in Juniata ID'd

JUNIATA (WPVI) -- The man who was shot multiple times and killed in the Juniata section of Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon has been identified.

Police identify the victim as 38-year-old Hurley McCall of the 1200 block of Magee Avenue in Lawndale.

The shooting happened around 3:00 p.m. in the 3900 block of I Street, right next to the Coca Cola Bottling company.

Witnesses say a man was running while firing into a white minivan, striking the driver several times.

McCall was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger inside the vehicle escaped injury. He was being questioned by police.

The gunman was carrying a .45 caliber weapon as he was shooting into the van on the busy street.

The driver crashed into several vehicles, but ultimately slammed into a blank minivan.

There is no word on the condition of the person inside the black minivan.

Police are continuing to investigate.
