Man struck and killed in Newark, Del.

CHRISTIANA, Del. (WPVI) -- Police say a man in his 30s was struck and killed in Newark, Delaware.

It happened around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The male pedestrian was walking southbound attempting to cross Route 4 in the area of Delaware Park Boulevard.

Police say the victim was not crossing in a crosswalk.

He was struck by a 2000 Ford Ranger. The driver of the vehicle did stop at the scene.

The victim was thrown across the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Delaware State Police are investigating.
