MANAYUNK (WPVI) -- City planners have breathed new life into a large swath of land that has been sitting vacant for the past decade in Manayunk.
To neighbors, it's known as Venice Island, running from Rector Street to Cotton Street.
A $46-million makeover has not only paved the way for a new rec center, it has also carved out space for a new treatment plant to minimize storm runoff into the Schuylkill River.
