Tenants will be out in the heat this morning surveying the damage from a multi-alarm blaze that kept firefighters busy for much of Monday night in West Chester.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Investigators are searching for the cause of a massive blaze that ripped through an office building in West Chester, Pa.

The fire broke out around 9:00 p.m. Monday at Market and North Church Streets.

Arriving firefighters found heavy flames coming from the building, which houses mostly offices with several apartments above.

West Chester Fire Department Chief Michael McDonald declared a second alarm at 9:29 p.m. and a third alarm at 10:55 p.m.

In all, more than 140 firefighters from Chester and Delaware Counties converged on the scene to help battle the blaze.

It was brought under control just before midnight.

Officials say everyone was evacuated safely, and there were no reported injuries.
