Officials say a Camden metro police officer collided his patrol car with another vehicle in Camden, New Jersey late Friday night.

Officials say a Camden metro police officer collided his patrol car with another vehicle in Camden, New Jersey late Friday night.

The accident happened just before midnight near the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Cooper Street.

Police say the officer was responding to an emergency when the crash occurred.

The impact of the crash caused a traffic light to topple and the civilian car to end up a nearby concrete divider.

Both the officer and civilian were taken by ambulance to Cooper Hospital for treatment.

The injuries are not considered life threatening.
