Philadelphia police officers rescued two people from a burning home in the Mantua section.

MANTUA -- Philadelphia police officers rescued two people from a burning home in the Mantua section of the city early Saturday morning.

The fire was reported around 2:40 a.m. in the 3900 block of Aspen Street.

A police sergeant tells Action News that two 16 district officers ran into the home and saved those two people.

Two other people were able to escape the home on their own.

Investigators say debris in the home slowed firefighters, making it harder to extinguish the flames.

A firefighter suffered a hand injury. No other injuries were reported.

There was no immediate word on how the fire started.
