VIDEO: Man mistaken for suspected cop killer Frein
One man has been caught up in this search more than most.

MONROE TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Schools were back open in the Poconos on Wednesday, but the manhunt for accused cop killer Eric Frein continues.

Things are pretty quiet now after yesterday's flurry of activity. Police are concentrating their efforts in four townships, but no new sightings reported today.

Search teams converged on Pocono Township on Tuesday after a local police officer apparently spotted Eric Frein near the Swiftwater Post Office.

It's across the street from Frein's old high school. And it is the same area where a woman claims to have spotted Frein while out for a walk last week.

But the trail has apparently gone cold again.

The Pocono Mountain School District cancelled classes yesterday, but the kids were back on the buses today.

Police cruisers spent the day crisscrossing four townships within a 25 mile grid.

We are now into the sixth week of the manhunt after Frein allegedly shot and killed a state trooper and critically injured another.

The police have been close to catching him several times now. Not close enough for James Tully who lives in Frein's home town.

Tully says he's been repeatedly stopped as he walks the five miles to and from his job every night.

When we asked how many times he's been stopped, he said, "I've lost count after twenty, in total. The most on a round trip stretch was about seven times."

Tully says on one occasion he suffered bruised ribs during some rough treatment.

"Driver jumps out yelling to get down on the ground, has his rifle pointed at my head. Now, I'm doing my best to comply with him, and he kept screaming at me wanting to know what my name is," Tully explained.

Now, he's not taking any chances, wearing a bright safety vest and prominently displaying his photo identification.

"The one they're hunting for, he's not going to stand out. He's going to try to blend in. I want to stand out so I can let them know, look, I'm not the one you're looking for. Just let me go on my way."

The longer Frein is out there, the tougher it gets. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder in the north woods.
