PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Pennsylvania State Police are making sure the ride back to school is a safe one.
Troopers have been inspecting buses throughout the region, including this morning at the Belmont Barracks in East Oak Lane.
In recent weeks, 49 percent of the school buses failed during the first round.
Just today, 685 vehicles were ordered to fix problems.
All but three of them passed during re-inspection.
Police will continue checking the buses as the school year begins.
