Pedestrian struck by car in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Authorities say a man was struck by a car in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday on Cobbs Creek Parkway near Delancy Street.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the striking vehicle did stop at the scene.

The accident is under investigation.
