WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Authorities say a southern New Jersey teenager has been killed after he was struck by two vehicles while crossing a roadway.

The South Jersey Times reports that the 17-year-old was hit by a Ford Escape and then fell into the street and was struck by a Mack truck that was traveling behind it on Wednesday.

Washington Township police say that both vehicles were driving through the intersection around 5:45 p.m. with a green signal and it wasn't known why the teen was in the roadway.

Both drivers remained at the scene of the accident and were not injured. No charges had been filed.

The victim was transported to Cooper Trauma Center, in Camden, where he was pronounced dead. His identity wasn't immediately released.
