A Philadelphia woman has been convicted of killing her 10-year-old stepdaughter and will now spend the rest of her life behind bars.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia woman has been convicted of killing her 10-year-old stepdaughter and will now spend the rest of her life behind bars.

A judge sentenced Margarita Garabito to life without the possibility of parole.

Garabito viciously beat Charlenni Ferreira on several occasions.

The little girl died as a result of her injuries in October 2009.

The child's father, Domingo Ferreira, was also arrested in the case but committed suicide three days later.
