PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia man is facing 300 charges related to child pornography, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office.

William Bairstow, 53, of the 300 block of Hellerman Street, was arrested last Friday.

According to the AG's office, the investigation began after a computer was found to be sharing images of child pornography on a peer-to-peer network.

Using the computer's IP address, investigators allegedly linked to files to Bairstow's computer.

The computer was seized and investigators say they found several thousand images and videos containing suspected child pornography.

Bairstow is charged with 300 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

He was released on $50,000 with 10 percent bail. A preliminary hearing is set for August 14th.
