PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer has been arrested in connection with a domestic incident involving his girlfriend.
Officer Alex McAdams, 28, has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and criminal mischief.
Around 4:10 a.m. on March 5, police say McAdams removed a screen from a side window of a first-floor apartment complex of his girlfriend, broke the window, entered the apartment and took a personal item before chasing her outside of the apartment.
Police say McAdams was off duty at the time of the incident.
McAdams, a 4-year veteran of the department assigned to the 15th District, turned himself in to police on Thursday.
Commissioner Richard Ross has suspended McAdams for 30 days with intent to dismiss.
