A man is dead after a shooting in Parkside.

PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- A man is dead after a shooting in the Parkside section of Philadelphia and police say an automatic weapon was found on the victim.

The shooting happened around 11:55 p.m. Saturday on the 3800 block of Girard Avenue.

Arriving police found a 33-year-old male shot in the head lying on Girard Avenue.

Police say the victim was shot in the left eye, neck, and chest.

He was transported by police to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

When officers went to remove the victim from the back seat of the police car, authorities say an automatic weapon, a TEC-9, fell from the victim's clothes and onto the parking lot.

No arrests have been made.
