NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- Police say the man who robbed a bank in New Castle, Delaware on Thursday afternoon was captured before he left the building.

Stephen D. Dunfee, 38, of New Castle, was arrested for the bank robbery at the Citizen's Bank located at 40 Chestnut Hill Plaza.

However, that's when bank personnel activated a security device called a 'mantrap.' Police say it remotely secured the interior and exterior doors of the bank, trapping Dunfee in the vestibule.

After he was trapped, police say Dunfee tried to escape, damaging the doors and glass, but couldn't get out.

He was taken into custody by State Police troopers.

No one was injured.

Dunfee was charged with 2nd-Degree Robbery and Criminal Mischief.
