Police: Church burglars found in ductwork

Two of the suspects were caught the ductwork of the church.

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Wilmington police say church burglary suspects were going after a higher power, meaning the copper wiring on the roof.

It happened at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Mother Union AME Church at 5th and Church streets.

With help from firefighters to get up to the roof, Wilmington police caught 33-year-old Carl Henderson and 22-year-old Avery Maxwell hiding in the HVAC ducts.

They arrested 32-year-old Angela Crowder in the alleged getaway vehicle parked outside.

Police say they also located several burglar tools and damaged copper wiring on the roof.
